When undertaking our standard fire awareness training, we ensure your staff will understand fire prevention strategies. They will become more familiar with the risks associated with fire and the methods to avert fire incidents. Participants will be adequately prepared for fire emergencies and know the appropriate actions to take should a fire occur.

"Martin has worked in the fire industry for over 25 years, starting as a fire service technician based in a London Hospital, responsible for maintaining fire extinguishers and hose reels. Being in the South of England meant Martin continued his field technician role and started to provide specific fire training courses for clients. The introduction of the RRFSO in 2006 found Martin putting down his toolbox, taking up pen and paper, and training to become a fire risk assessor while developing the fire training experience and fire safety module."

What is Fire Safety Training?
Practical instruction that helps employees recognise fire risks, prevent incidents, and respond effectively. It covers alarms and evacuation, how to use firefighting equipment (where appropriate), and your legal duties.
Why do businesses need Fire Safety Training?
In the UK, employers must provide suitable fire safety training for all staff under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It protects people, reduces business disruption, and helps meet insurance and legal obligations.
What do Fire Wardens do?
Fire Wardens (or Marshals) help implement day-to-day fire safety measures, coordinate evacuations, check escape routes, assist vulnerable persons, and report hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
How often should training be refreshed?
At least annually, and sooner after changes to staff, layout, processes, or risks, or following an incident or drill that highlights gaps.
Can training be tailored to our site or industry?
Yes. We tailor scenarios, equipment use, and procedures to your risks (e.g. hot works, kitchens, labs, warehouses, care settings) so the content is relevant and actionable.
What is included in a typical Fire Safety course?
Your legal duties and the fire triangle (risk awareness), alarm types, raises, and safe evacuation, assembly points and roll call, use of extinguishers (theory and supervised practical where appropriate), Fire Warden/Marshal responsibilities, and record-keeping and improvement actions.
How many Fire Wardens do we need?
Appoint enough to cover all working hours, floors, areas, and shifts including absence and leave. A common baseline is: Low-risk: 1 warden per 50 people; Medium-risk: approximately 1 warden per 20 people; High-risk/complex: more coverage per area and shift. A fire risk assessment should set the exact number.
How long does training take, and how is it delivered?
Most core courses run 2 to 3 hours (Fire Awareness) or half-day (Fire Warden/Marshal). Delivery is on-site or at our West Sussex training room; live virtual refreshers are available for some modules.
How do we book?
Send basic details including location, headcount, preferred dates, and course type, and we will confirm availability and a tailored plan.
Where do you deliver training?
On-site nationwide for larger groups; regularly across the South East from our Worthing base, including Brighton, East Sussex, Bournemouth, Chichester, Crawley, Eastbourne, Guildford, Hastings, Horsham, London, Maidstone, Portsmouth, Southampton, Salisbury, Tunbridge Wells, and Winchester.
